BAM Jam Prizes

One question that we get is: what do the winning teams get? Every winning team gets a coveted Champions T-shirt for their players and a copy of your winning tournament bracket.

But for the Elite Divisions there is even more. Elite Champions will also receive $200 in gift certificates to the Pro Image/Blue & Orange Store, BAM Jam Back Packs and a basketball in addition to the official BAM Jam Champions T-shirts.

REMEMBER: if you want to play, you have to register! The registration deadline is this Friday, March 5. You won't want to be on the outside looking in at this incredible event!

And don't forget, there is also a Dunk Competition and the Jackson & Jackson 3-point Shootout, each with their own set of prizes including gear by STADIA Clothing! Anyone can participate. Sign up for the Dunk and Shootout at the event.

Team Captains! Please read

Just a reminder, if you are the team captain (Player 1 on the registration form) you should receive a team verification email. It is absolutely critical that you review the information in this email and make any corrections necessary.

The most important items: be sure that your team is in the correct age group (youth, high school or adult), gender (male, female or co-ed), team height (N/A for youth, 6'0 and under, 6'0 and over) and division (youth, recreational, competitive or elite).

From there be sure that your team members all meet the requirements of your division (if you are in a high school division all players should be in high school, if you are in a co-ed gender bracket you should have at least one boy or girl, if you are 6'0 and under everyone should be under 6'0, etc.)

This is so important because this is how we bracket all teams. What may seem like a simple typo could affect the teams you play against. We rely on your accuracy to evenly match up teams.

If you see a mistake, simply respond to the email with the corrections. We'll take if from there.

If you have not received a verification email (it should be sent to you within 10 minutes of completing your registration) please send an email to service@idahoselect.org with your team name, captain's name and captain's email address.

Other information that is important: Player's 2-4 email addresses (BAM Jam does all communication through email so this should be accurate) and team t-shirt sizes.

Other notes: if you need to add/delete/change a player you can do so via the "PLAYER CHANGE" form available under the "Play" link on the main page.

The normal registration deadline is March 5. However, we are currently on pace to sell out early so if you are considering getting a team in, you may want to register ASAP. The Fast Eddy's BAM Jam is March 13 at Taco Bell Arena.

Team Check In / Player Changes

To all teams:

You should be receiving an email with the subject "BAM Jam Schedule" from Vince. In there is your Team Number. You will need this number to check in.

If you do not have this email, please do the following before sending an email:
  1. Check your email inbox
  2. Check your spam or junk folder (it may have gotten bumped in there)
  3. Check with your teammates. For some reason, the email may have been sent to them. If they can't find it have them check their spam or junk folders
If none of these things lead to the email, send an email to info@idahoselect.org.

Team check in will take place at the Piper Pub in downtown Boise, 150 N. 8th Street. Check in is required and is where you will receive your team's bracket and t-shirts. You may check in either Thursday from 4-9pm or Friday from 11am-1pm.

Player changes are available. We know that plans change or injuries happen close to the start of the tournament and this is why we have made available the Player Change Form. Only fully completed Player Change Forms will be accepted. These can be found by rolling your mouse over the "Play" link above and clicking on "Player Change" when it drops down. Or just Click Here.

Late registration and brackets

If teams are still interested in registering for the 2009 BAM Jam, we still have some room. But complete your team registration ASAP (www.bamjamboise.com/play).

Now the bracketing begins! We are taking all the teams that have registered and matching them up based on age, ability and desired level of competition. This is actually a somewhat scientific process using spreadsheets and variables. Probably very boring to the average person we sure get into it!

Brackets will be posted Wednesday evening, August 5. Team check in will begin Thursday, August 7. Details coming soon!

Games will start on Friday no earlier than 5:00 PM.

The Gold Standard

As we continue to prepare for BAM Jam 2009, the staff took our traditional trip to Spokane, Washington this past weekend for Hoopfest.

Hoopfest once again did something that they have been doing over the last several years, breaking their own attendance record. This year, according to their event guide, Hoopfest had 6,700 participating teams, breaking last year's record and continuing to prove what community support for a great event can do.

With nearly 600 courts on 40 square blocks, Spokane proved that it is the current home court for 3 on 3 basketball.

There were a few things that stood out that are worth noting:
  1. The Nike Center Court was again the spot to be for not only great hoops but also great entertainment. In addition to the games there were dance performances from the Sea Gals (the Seahawks dance team) and men's and women's dunk competitions. The crowds seemed bigger this year than last year.
  2. Their staff continues to incredibly welcoming to our staff. Kathlene Sulivan (in charge of their registration, check in, player changes, etc.) may be one of the coolest people we've met. And Lori and Chad Smith were awesome with the Court Monitor trainings.
  3. The food and booths continue to get better and better. In addition to all the food options, participants also got a chance to get autographs from current Gonzaga players.
  4. The Court Monitors and Court Marshalls continue to be some of the nicest and hardest working volunteers around. They give their weekend and stand in the heat so that the tournament can go on and be successful. You really have to respect that.
So, as we return back to Boise to finish planing for this year's BAM Jam, we do so energized by what we just saw and with a goal of where we someday could be.

Registration now open!

Are you ready for BAM Jam 2009? We are! Registration for this year's event is now open thanks to the hard work of Drake Cooper.

We got some great feedback from last year's tournament and to reflect that, we've added two new divisions: High School Elite (boys and girls) and Men's Over 40 divisions. It should be another fantastic year and now you have even more options.

What does it take to play in BAM Jam? It's pretty simple really. Just get 2 or 3 of your friends, co-workers, relatives or neighbors, pick a team name and get signed up. It only takes about 5 minutes and with the updated wizard, your registration is even easier.

That's it. That's all. That's pretty much everything. Click on the "Play" link at the top to get started...
