10U-17U age divisions (each team will rank themselves)

Level 3 (top of the division) – These are players that play at a very high level relative to their age group. They practice and compete year round, often traveling out of the area to compete in higher level tournaments. Their teams usually win the local tournaments and do well when they travel to high level tournaments. A typical team would be a traveling club team. In junior high/ middle school they are a top player on their “A” team and club team. In high school they play on the varsity or are a top player on the JV.

Level 2 (average) – These players practice on a regular basis, usually 2-4 times per week all year, either on their own or with a team. They are on a team that plays most of their games locally and finish in the middle of the pack at most events, usually winning about half the games they play. A typical league would be a local AAU team. In junior high/ middle school they are on their “A” team or a top player on the “B” team. They also play on a club or travel team part of the year. In high school they are on the sophomore or JV team.

Level 1 (we’re not very good) – This is a team that is just wanting to have fun but doesn’t play basketball more than 15 times a year. The players are still learning the game. Younger players are still learning the rules and flow. Older players enjoy the game but don’t compete on official teams.
